Stop the spread of flu at work

Published 11/21/2019

Since lots of people in close quarters can spell trouble when it comes to sharing germs, flu season can hit the place where you work especially hard. Employee health, productivity, and morale can all take a hit.

With that in mind, here are some tips that help anyone do their part to create a heathy environment at work or school:

  1. Spread the word about the flu vaccine. Maybe even talk to HR about hosting an employee vaccine clinic.
  2. Practice good hygiene. Keep tissues and hand sanitizer at your desk.
  3. Regularly clean frequently-touched surfaces like your desk, keyboard, phone, or mouse with a disinfectant wipe.
  4. Stay home when you’re sick! If you have sick time or PTO, don’t be afraid to use it.
